Diving day tours

The Dive sites in Galapagos are definitely among the best worldwide. In Santa Cruz there are some professional dive centers which offers you safe diving.

The best places are close to the Bay of Puerto Ayora, these are Islote Camano, La Loberia, Punta Estrada or Punta Carrion.

From the village about an hour by boat, you will find a stunning dive site: Gordon Rocks, just east of Plaza Island. there you can dive with schools of Hammerhead Sharks, Manta Rays, Sea Turtles and thousands of fishes.

North Seymour Island is a twenty minute boat ride from the Chanal of Itabaca. Sharks are one of the main attractions of the place.

There are several dive centers in Puerto Ayora. All of them managed by internationally renowned professionals (usually PADI), and all use modern equipment.

The dive centers can organize trips for a day or even a week. You can choose to dive in and around Santa Cruz and visit other islands where diving is permitted (Santa Fe, Floreana, North Seymour, Gordon Rocks, Daphne, Beagle Rock, San Cristobal, Española, Isabela, Pinzón, Santiago and Marchena).

Please consider the difficult conditions that may occur at sea (cold water, strong currents, big waves etc.). It is highly recommended to have an experience of at least intermediate level (more than 30 dives). 

You can also organize dives in San Cristobal and Isabela where there are agencies for this purpose and dive centers.
